Katie Price is 'too busy' to attend the NTAs, but manages to find time to get her hair done... while Alex Reid forces a smile at premiere

She was apparently 'too busy' to attend the National Television Awards last night.

But Katie Price still managed to fit in a lengthy stint in a hair salon yesterday as she had her hair extensions tended to and got a cut and blowdry.

The 32-year-old model was accompanied by daughter Princess and close friend Gary Cockerill as she spent hours in the hairdressers in Soho.

Katie later left the salon with her new hair hidden under a hooded jacket, clutching little Princess, who was wearing an animal-print jacket to match her mum's.

The mother-of-three spent the day in the salon amid reports she has thrown herself into her professional life since announcing her split from Alex Reid earlier this month.

It's reported Katie decided she was 'too busy' to attend last night's glitzy awards ceremony at London's O2 Arena.

A source told the Daily Star newspaper: 'Katie is so desperate for a distraction from all the heartache that she is absolutely exhausted from all the work.'

As well as shooting new promotional videos for her new Living TV reality show, Katie has been working hard to promote her most recent autobiography.

She tweeted this morning: 'Morning tweeps!!! Another shoot for the new Sky Living show.. Billboards and buses here I come woo xx'

Katie later added: 'I've got one more book signing for my autobiography. Its at Asda in Milton Keynes next thursday Feb 3 at 4.30pm!! Hope to see you there xx'

Meanwhile, as Katie throws herself into her work to try and cope with the breakdown of her second marriage, estranged husband Alex Reid appears to be finding the split a little harder to accept.

The cagefighter managed a smile for photographers as he attended the premiere of Zebra Crossing in London's Leicester Square last night, but was still sporting his wedding ring - suggesting he is struggling to manage.

Wearing a grey jumper underneath a blazer jacket, Alex headed into the cinema for the screening armed with a packet of chocolates and two bottles of beer - perhaps not the sort of diet a trained cagefighter should be sticking to.

And while Alex appeared determined to put on a brave face for photographers, he seemed to be finding it hard to keep up appearances.

The cagefighter is undoubtedly reeling from photographs of Katie, taken at the exclusive Klosters ski resort in Switzerland, which show her cavorting with various male polo players.

However, after the publication of the photographs, Katie was quick to take to her Twitter page to assure fans of her actions at the resort.
