Time to hang up the Manolos? Sex and the City 2 stars named worst actresses at Razzie Awards

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

They'll be crying into their cosmopolitans: Sex and the City 2's cast were named the worst actresses at this year's Razzie Awards

It is the one Hollywood awards ceremony where no celebrity wants to win.

But this year the cast of Sex and the City 2 were among those who were called out at the 31st Annual Golden Raspberry Awards at the Barnsdall Gallery Theatre in LA.

The satirical ceremony, traditionally held the night before the Academy Awards, honour the year's worst films and actors.

Sex and the City 2 opened last year to lacklustre ticket sales and even worse reviews.

And all four of its stars - Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon - collectively took the worst actress category during event tonight.

The film, which saw the New York ladies head to Abu Dhabi for a girls' holiday, was also named worst sequel and took out the worst screen ensemble gong.

'It was released in the middle of a period of American history when everyone's scrounging not to lose their homes,' Razzies founder John Wilson said.

'And these women are riding around in Rolls-Royces, buying expensive shoes and just throwing money around like they're drunk.'

Parker said this month that she is open to the possibility of Sex and the City 3, telling the LA Times: 'I would go back. I think there's one more story to tell. I know there is.'

No love here: Valentine's Day stars Ashton Kutcher and Jessica Alba were named worst supporting actor and actress

Ashton Kutcher was picked as worst actor for Killers and Valentine's Day, while Jessica Alba took worst supporting actress for four of her films - The Killer Inside Me, Little Fockers, Machete and Valentine's Day.

M. Night Shyamalan's critically panned 3-D fantasy film, The Last Airbender, led the Razzies with five awards.

It won worst picture, worst director and worst screenplay while Jackson Rathbone was named worst supporting actor for both The Last Airbender and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse.

Sweeping the board: M. Night Shyamalan's critically panned 3-D fantasy film, The Last Airbender, led the Razzies with five awards

The Last Airbender, which still managed to make $300 million worldwide, also won for the worst eye-gouging misuse of 3-D.

Shyamalan, who was widely praised for the The Sixth Sense in 1999, also won Razzies in 2006 for Lady in the Water.

'He managed to take a cartoon property and make it even less lifelike by making it with real actors,' Wilson said of The Last Airbender, which was adapted from an animated TV series.

'Most people who like the show, and this would include my 14-year-old son, hated the movie. It made no sense whatsoever.'

And the grab and grope award goes to: Rosario Dawson cheekily gets to grips with Paul Rudd at Spirit Awards

By GEORGINA LITTLEJOHN

I wasn't expecting that! Paul Rudd is taken by surprise as Rosario Dawson grabs his crotch on stage at the Spirit Awards last night

At most award ceremonies, someone will always take the opportunity to do something outrageous or offensive.

But last night, Rosario Dawson left the audience at the Spirit Awards open-mouthed as she grabbed Paul Rudd's crotch as he went to present a gong.

The actor took his place at the podium at the awards in Santa Monica, California last night to present the Best Screenplay accolade with actress Eve Mendes.

But then actress Dawson ran on stage to join them and grabbed Rudd's crotch, much to his surprise.

Do you think he minds? Rosario, still with a firm grip on Rudd, smiles at the audience, as Mendes reads out the Best Screenplay winner

He looked stunned at Mendes began to read out the winner, but then seemed happy to let Dawson keep her hand on his nether regions.

As she laughed while keeping a firm grip on him, the winner was declared as The Kids Are Alright, starring Julianne Moore and Annette Bening, who is nominated for an Oscar tonight.

Ok, that's enough now: As Rosario gives him one last squeeze, Rudd goes to remove her hand from his nether regions

However, after a while, Rudd had clearly had enough of her larking about and went to remove her hand as she gave him one last squeeze.

And not one to miss out on all the fun, he then put his arm around his award co-host Mendes while grabbing her breast with the other.

The Independent Spirit Awards are gongs dedicated to independent film makers and always take place the night before the Academy Awards, the biggest night on the showbiz calendar.

Touchy feely: Not to miss out on the fun, Rudd then grabbed Mendes's breast

And the winners last night included Natalie Portman, who won Best Actress for her role in Black Swan and is hotly tipped to take tonight's Best Actress Academy Award

James Franco won Best Actor for his role in 127 Hours, and is also nominated for an Oscar in the same category, but faces stiff competition from Colin Firth, for his leading role in The King's Speech, which last night took Best Foreign Film.

Pregnant Natalie Portman wins best actress at Spirit Awards (and shares best dressed honour with Nicole Kidman)

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Best actress: Pregnant actress Natalie Portman, in Givenchy, arrived at the Independent Spirit Awards in Santa Monica today

She may have shared the best dressed honour on the red carpet with fellow nominee Nicole Kidman, but the acting glory was Natalie Portman's alone at the Independent Spirit Awards today.

The Black Swan star, who is pregnant with her first child, was named best actress at the Santa Monica ceremony, which is the art-house world's version of the Oscars.

Her ballet thriller swept the board at the ceremony a day before it competes for

five prizes at the Academy Awards.

The film, which struggled to get made despite an A-list cast and director, picked up three other Spirit statuettes, including best feature.

Lady in red: Nicole Kidman looked stunning in a fiery red fitted lace dress

Darren Aronofsky was named best director for his work on the movie, two years after he was honored for The Wrestler.

It also took the cinematography prize for Matthew Libatique.

The 29-year-old star and her French boyfriend Benjamin Millepied, 33, met on the set of the psychological thriller and are expecting their first child this summer.

Before the ceremony, Portman made a stylish entrance on the red carpet in a baby-doll style Givenchy printed dress.

Kidman, who was also nominated for best actress for her role as a grieving mother in Rabbit Hole, looked equally stylish in a red lace fitted gown that also accentuated her slim figure.

Perfectly printed: Eva Mendes opted for a bright and breezy Chanel number while Zoe Saldana and Kerry Washington both wore Dolce & Gabbana

Paler shades: Grey's Anatomy star Kate Walsh, Australian actress Mia Wasikowska and Winter's Bone Jennifer Lawrence (in Dolce & Gabbana) all went for paler shades for the occasion

The joined a host of other stars at the event, including Eva Mendes, Zoe Saldana, Kerry Washington, Kate Walsh, Melissa Leo, Naomi Watts, Liev Schrieber, Mark Ruffalo and Ben Stiller.

Winter's Bone, which led the field with seven nominations, ended up with two prizes.
John Hawkes and Dale Dickey won for their supporting roles as threatening characters in a rural American community ravaged by methamphetamines.

'The King's Speech, which leads the Oscars field with 12 nominations, was named best foreign film at the Spirits. As a British movie, it was not eligible for consideration in the major categories.

Spirited: The Fighter's Melissa Leo and actresses Anne Heche and Amber Tamblyn looked ready for the festivities

Party of two: Naomi Watts and husband Liev Schrieber and Sandra Oh and her guest were among the stars who came in pairs

The male lead prize went to James Franco for his role as a a hiker forced to amputate his own arm in the true-life tale 127 Hours.

The Kids Are All Right, with five nominations, received a solitary win in the screenplay category, for director Lisa Cholodenko and co-writer Stuart Blumberg.
Aronofsky and Portman first discussed making Black Swan about a decade ago, and when they finally started shooting, the film had no financing.

Aronofsky hailed some equity investors whose risky bet has paid a hefty dividend.
The film, which cost about $15 million to make, has grossed just over $100 million at the North American box office. It will compete in the equivalent categories at the Oscars on Sunday, as well as for editing.

The Spirit Awards honour low-budget American films based on such criteria as original, provocative subject matter and the degree of independent financing.

Video: Oscar Hosts James Franco and Anne Hathaway Take on 'Grease'

After making a dance mishap in a promo video for 2011 Academy Awards, James Franco and Anne Hathaway have shown off their better dancing skills. Via his Twitter account, the "127 Hours" actor has shared a link to another YouTube video featuring him and his Oscar co-host reenacting a carnival scene from "Grease".

X Factor Tour hits Dublin but Cher Lloyd steals the limelight again in pink and black tutu

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

Punk princess: Cher Lloyd took to the stage in a black and pink ensemble consisting of Adidas trainers and a tutu while in Dublin

As The X Factor live tour hit Dublin during the finalists’ fourth day of performing, Cher Lloyd stole the limelight again in a vibrant ensemble.

Her punk-inspired costume combined Adidas trainers with tights, a studded jacket and a puffy tutu with hot pink sashes.

The 17-year-old singer had already dyed her brunette hair bright red to stay in the spotlight and she seems determined to be at the forefront of on-stage fashion.

Dancers: Cher Lloyd had a flurry of back-up dancers during her performance, who also wore bright harlequin fabrics

Cher was joined on stage by a flurry of backup dancers who resembled the Worcestershire teenager in their own renditions of tutus and harlequin-inspired costumes.

The X Factor stars were performing at The O2 in Dublin, where native Mary Byrne sang alongside Rebecca Ferguson, Katie Waissel, One Direction, Matt Cardle, Aiden Grimshaw, Paije Richardson and Wagner.

Mary, 51, who came fifth in the ITV competition, also followed Cher’s fashion footsteps in a bright red top and while in Dublin said the teenager has changed for the better.

The former Tesco employee told Ireland’s RTE Ten: ‘Cher has become a completely different girl, she’s looking after herself now, she’s calmed down an awful lot.

Speaking out: Mary Byrne said: 'Cher has become a completely different girl, she's looking after herself now, she's calmed down an awful lot'

One Direction: Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Nial Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik charmed Dublin at The O2

‘She still has her moments but she’s a young kid, she wants to reach for the stars, she wants it all.’

Mary also said that she loves Katie and Rebecca and credited her mentor Louis Walsh for changing her life.

But said: ‘I don’t think the girls heard from Cheryl [Cole], Matt has heard from Dannii, I’m sure the boys have been in touch with Simon, but I know that Cheryl hasn’t been in touch with any of them.’

Cheryl Cole’s former protégé Katie Waissel dazzled on stage in a pretty blue floral dress, while Rebecca Ferguson kept her classic look in a little black dress, gold heels and red lipstick.

The boys of One Direction, Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson and Zayn Malik, have been causing teen hysteria ever since kicking off the tour in Birmingham on Saturday.

No contact: Mary Byrne said that Katie Waissel (left) and Rebecca Ferguson's (right) former mentor Cheryl Cole hasn't kept in contact with the girls since the show finished

Winner: X Factor winner Matt Cardle took to the stage at The O2 in Dublin to join his fellow talent show finalists

And last night was no different as they charmed the audience with their cheeky smiles and choreographed dance moves.

The X Factor 37-date tour has seen the finalists perform covers of hits such as Rihanna’s Only Girl In the World, Bob Dylan’s Forever Young, Katy Perry’s Firework and of course Wagner’s mash up of She Bangs/Love Shack.

The singers will continue to perform at The O2 in Dublin until Friday, before heading to Belfast for their concerts at Odyssey Arena.

Meanwhile, as show executives get ready for the next series of X Factor, its bosses are said to be in talks with Facebook to organise a voting system through the social networking site.

A source told The Sun: 'In the UK, you will buy Facebook credit like you can now for games on the website, and use that to vote. Phone voting would still be available too.'

Show bosses are apparently in talks to bring in the system for both the UK and US version of the show to make voting easier for fans.

Next series: The ITV talent show bosses are said to be in talks with Facebook to discuss whether fans could vote for contestants such as Wagner (left) and Aiden Grimshaw (right) on the social networking site for the upcoming series

Feeling Glee-ful? Only Way Is Essex stars film new 'Glee-style music video' to promote show's brand new series

By JODY THOMPSON

Ready for their close up: Only Way Is Essex stars Sam Faiers, left, and Amy Childs, right, make their way from the make-up trailer to Faces nightclub

They've become famous for simply going about their real lives with a little help from judiciously-placed scripts and a camera crew - but could The Only Way Is Essex stars be about to reveal hitherto unseen talents?

The ITV2 show stars have been busy all day filming a promo for the new series at the county's notorious Faces nightclub in Gants Hill - and it's said to be a Glee-style music video.

The title of the song they're covering is being kept tightly under wraps however, nor is it known if show band Lola are making an appearance.

Scarlet women: Sam and Amy's Only Way Is Essex co-stars joined them dressed in red dresses to film a 'Glee-style' promo ad for the show

Quick smacker: Kirk Norcross grabs a kiss from his girlfriend Lauren Pope as Mark Wright and friend Arg arrive for filming

And it appears the gang were filming late into the night, with Amy tweeting on her official account at 9.30pm: 'Still filming and am soo tired ... X'

Sam meanwhile has been sharing a host of behind-the-scenes glimpses of the shoot on her Twitter account.

Brooklyn Decker decks Jennifer Aniston in the fashion stakes with daring jumpsuit for German premiere of Just Go With It

By JODY THOMPSON

Fashion face-off: Brooklyn Decker wore a purple silk Max Mara jumpsuit with on-trend clashing red shoes for the German premiere of Just Go With It

At just 23 years old, she's almost two decades younger than her co-star - and Brooklyn Decker certainly showed more youthful fashion flair compared to Jennifer Aniston on the red carpet last night.

While the 42-year-old Friends star played it safe at the German premiere of their new movie Just Go With It in a classic LBD, Brooklyn took a chance with a more cutting-edge purple Max Mara jumpsuit that was slashed to the thigh.

The pair star alongside Adam Sandler, 44, with Jennifer playing a woman pretending to be plastic surgeon Sandler's soon-to-be-divorced wife rather than his actual assistant to cover up a lie told to his much-younger girlfriend, played by Decker.

Playing safe: Jennifer Aniston wore a short black dress with a ruffled skirt, lace back and shoulder detail

Earlier, the trio had taken a photocall at Berlin's Hotel Adlon to promote the movie, ahead of the full-blown premiere at the city's CineStar cinema last night - with Jen still in top-to-toe black.

The movie also stars Nicole Kidman and rockstar-turned actor Dave Matthews and opened in the UK on February 11.

In Germany however, the title is Meine Erfundene Frau - or My Imaginary Woman.

Threesy does it: Jennifer and Brooklyn with their co-star Adam Sandler at the Berlin premiere of the movie, called Meine Erfundene Frau in German

The Daily Mail's film reviewer Chris Tookey clearly wished that the film had just been imagined rather than a reality that he had to sit through.

Giving the effort zero stars, he wrote: 'A diabolical romcom in which the hero is a sexist plastic surgeon who preys on younger women and enjoys hitting small children' and says that Jennifer's talents are 'wasted' in the role.

Meanwhile, Ashton Kutcher, 33, has revealed that he's long been a fan of Jennifer's talents - and once asked Brad Pitt's permission to take her on a date.

Air kisses! Sandler found himself stuck between his co-stars as they greeted each other

Talking to Graham Norton on his BBC1 chat show on Friday night, Ashton explained he had bet a friend of his $1,000 when he was a teenager that one day, he would take the star out on a date.

He continued: 'I'm 17 years old and she's like on my screensaver on my computer and he's like. "You're on..."

'Four or five years later I actually meet Jennifer Aniston and she's married to Brad Pitt at the time. And so I went to Brad Pitt and I asked his permission to ask his wife out on a date.

'I said, "Listen, I made a bet with my buddy, you're a cool guy, you're gonna let this go down, right?" And he looked at me, he's like, "You go for it."

Poseable limbs: The former Friends star appeared to have come over all Barbie doll-esque as she goofed around at the film launch earlier in the day

Hollywood to Berlin: Co-stars Brooklyn Decker, Adam Sandler and Jennifer Aniston have a group hug to promote their new movie earlier in the day

'And I'm like, "You're the coolest guy I've ever met in my life!" So I asked her and she turned me down... But now we're friends.'

Meanwhile, Jennifer might be hoping for a better reaction to her next forays on to the big screen.

Her next films include Horrible Bosses, which also stars Jason Bateman, Jamie Foxx, Kevin Spacey, Donald Sutherland and Colin Farrell and is due out in July, and comedy Wanderlust, in which she stars with Paul Rudd and which opens in October.

No dice: Ashton Kutcher, seen here on his UK press trip last week to promote new movie No Strings Attached, said Brad Pitt once gave him permission to date Jen but she said no

Justin Bieber gets the best seats in the house as he cosies up next to Rihanna courtside at NBA All-Star game

By DAILY MAIL REPORTER

NBA pals: Justin Bieber sat courtside with Rihanna at the NBA All-Star basketball game in Los Angeles while the Rude Boy singer wasn't performing in the stadium

Life couldn’t get much better for superstar Justin Bieber and this weekend proved no different as he sat courtside during an NBA All-Star basketball game next to Rihanna.

Having the best seats in the house meant the 16-year-old was able to throw the ball around with the players and sit side by side with Rihanna when she wasn’t performing at the event.

It wasn’t just an all-star game at Staples Center in Los Angeles, but it also marked the Rude Boy singer’s 23rd birthday, who put on a raunchy show at half time.

Celebrity guests: Beyonce Knowles (left) giggled as Chicago Bulls mascot Benny The Bull pats Bieber on the head... Lenny Kravitz wasn't as fascinated, looking bored as he checked his phone

After the R&B star cavorted on stage in a skimpy outfit though, she changed back into a more appropriate ensemble of trousers and a knit top to hang out with Bieber.

The pair giggled together as Justin showed Rihanna something funny on his phone and ate popcorn as they enjoyed the game.

Courtside: Justin Bieber threw the ball around as he sat in his front row seat to watch the game... Just days earlier he had received the MVP award while playing for the West team

The stars were watching the final event of the All-Star competition between the Eastern and Western Conference, with the West team winning with a score of 148-143.

Just a couple of days earlier, Bieber had also played as part of the West team, which was coached by Magic Johnshon, and the pint-sized singer managed to be named the Most Valuable Player.

Star-filled: The NBA All-Star game was attended by many celebrities including Beyonce, Jay-Z, Justin Bieber and Lenny Kravitz

The 5’5” Baby singer played alongside Rob Kardashian, Chuck star Zachary Levi, rapper Common, Modern Family actor Ty Burrell, actor Jason Alexander and rapper Lil’ Romeo.

His West team lost 49-54 to the East Conference side but was still honoured for scoring eight points.

Also at the game was superstar Beyonce, who was a classier guest and lit up with room with an incredible pair of Christian Louboutin shoes.

The singing sensation brought the glamour to the celebrity filled Los Angeles stadium donning a pair of sparkling seven-inched platform heels.

The famous red-bottom heels stood out as stars from all arenas converged on California for the fun-filled weekend.

Basketball fans: Beyonce arrived in her sparkling Christian Louboutin heels at the sports event, while Lenny Kravitz posed on the magenta carpet before watching the game

Beyonce was joined by her husband Jay-Z who kept his sunglasses on throughout the game.

They were seated in the front row next to teen heartthrob Bieber and rocker Lenny Kravitz.

Other celebrities who attended the final event of the All-Star weekend was John Legend and his model girlfriend Christine Teigen who was very animated during the game.

Former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger was greeted by Kiss front man Gene Simmons.

And in a seating arrangement not to be seen very often - Arnie's wife Maria Shriver and her son Christopher Schwarzenegger watched the game sat next to gangster rapper Lil Wayne.

Duet: The Barbadian native was joined on stage by Kanye West and Drake who she has collaborated with in the past

Actor Dustin Hoffman and Aerosmith lead singer turned American Idol judge Steven Tyler was also in attendance.

Melanie Fiona - Sang the Canadian Anthem at the game, but the big performance of the event was Rihanna's, who marked her 23rd birthday with a provocative show that shocked the audience.

Rihanna wore a crystal-covered basque and fringed hotpants and accented the outfit with fishnet stockings to finish off her look.

She performed a medley of her hits to close out the annual basketball event.

This is not the first time Rihanna's over-sexed performances has drawn disapproval.

She caused controversy in the UK late last year when her performance on the hit reality show X Factor caused 4,500 people to complain to the television watchdog OFCOM.

Her performance was called 'disgusting' and is being investigated by authorities as to ascertain if it was too sexualised to be broadcast on a show with very young fans.

Great time: US rapper Lil Wayne sat and watched the game at Staples Center while John Legend and his girlfriend Christine Teigen had a fun time too

The Only Girl in the World singer was joined on stage at last night's basketball event by Kanye West who wore an all red outfit including shiny pants that were extra snug.

Canadian rapper Drake also took to the stage to perform his verse on Rihanna's hit song What's My Name?

Meanwhile, Eminem is set to join Bieber as one of only three people to reach a billion views on YouTube.

Although Bieber still remains YouTube’s top star with over 1.3billion views, Eminem has become the third person in history to achieve the milestone alongside Lady Gaga.

The Recovery star is just ahead of Rihanna, who is set to break the billion view milestone on YouTube within the next two weeks.

Sports fans: Black Eyed Peas rapper Taboo, and Twilight star Kellan Lutz attended, while Dustin Hoffman turned the tables on the photographers

Video: Rihanna, Drake and Kanye Rock NBA All-Star Game

After having a playful set with Drizzy in 'What's My Name?', RiRi closes the medley performance with Kanye West in 'All of the Lights'.

A week after hitting the stage of Los Angeles' Staples Center for the 53rd Annual Grammy Awardsperformances, Rihanna came back on Sunday, February 20 to the venue for another live performance. This time, the Def Jam artist rocked the house for the NBA All-Star Game.

RiRi kicked off the set with her popular single "Umbrella" with an orchestra backing her up. She later moved on to more uplifting track "Only Girl (In the World)" before proceeding with "Rude Boy" and "What's My Name?". Her featured guest Drake showed up to deliver his flirty rap lines.

The couple, who was briefly linked in 2009 after her ill-fated romance with Chris Brown, got playful and ground on each other on stage. "I switch it up cause I got something to say. We gon have some fun tonight and baby, happy birthday," he said in the middle of his rapping lines, causing RiRi to grin. The Bajan singer turned 23 that night.

When confetti was thrown into the air, people expected the show was over, but it's not. Kanye West showed up in his all-red outfit, bling-bling and shades, throwing his "All of the Lights" verses with RiRi tackling the chorus.

The Game and Snoop Dogg's 'Purp & Yellow' Music Video

The Cali Hip-Hop duo reps for their hometown along with L.A. Lakers' Ron Artest, Matt Barnes and Shannon Brown.

Just in time for NBA All-Star Game, Los Angeles duo The Game and Snoop Dogg debuted a music video for the Skeetox remix of Wiz Khalifa's breakout single "Black & Yellow". While the Lil Wayne remix is to salute the Green Bay Packers, this re-recorded track is titled "Purp & Yellow" to represent the signature colors of L.A. Lakers.

Other than The Game and Snoop, NBA players like Ron Artest, Matt Barnes and Shannon Brown also make appearances in this Matt Alonzo-directed clip. They invade a warehouse, bringing a live band and DJ to rock the building.

During the filming last month, Game accidentally cut his finger after a stunt that involved him smashing a guitar went horribly wrong. As the rapper smashed it to smithereens, the impact from the stunt caused a shard of plastic to embed itself into his finger, which meant he had to go to hospital for several stitches.

The song remix is listed in The Game's latest mixtape "Purp & Patron".
