Larger than life: Jack Black was spotted leaving a gym in West Hollywood today
He's made his name playing larger than life characters in films such as Nacho Libre and Tropic Thunder.
But it looks like Jack Black is ditching the more rotund look in an effort to get into shape.
The 41-year-old was spotted leaving the trendy Equinox gym in West Hollywood earlier today, wearing a large blue T-shirt and baggy brown tracksuit bottoms.
Clutching what looked like a protein shake in his right hand, the Shallow Hal star looked as if he has just stepped out from an intense workout.
And he wasn't afraid to poke a little fun at himself, performing some high-energy kung-fu moves for photographers.
Black, who has been married to wife Tanya since 2006, recently purchased a home in Los Angeles after two years of searching.
High kick: Jack showed off his enthusiastic Kung Fu prowess outside the gym
The Los Feliz area home was bought for $5,965,000, and used to belong to Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea (real name Michael Balzary).
Built in 1915, the two-story 6,500 square feet house has seven bedrooms, three bathrooms, a swimming pool, a motor court and solar roof panels.
It sits on a flag-shaped lot of more than half an acre.
Homeowner: Jack recently bought a $3.85 million home in Los Feliz, Los Angeles
Flea, 48, bought the house in 2008 for $3.85 million, according to public records. He also owns a home in Malibu.
Black plays the title role of Lemuel Gulliver in the 3-D comedy adventure, which was released on Christmas Day.
The actor and wife Tanya have two sons: Samuel Jason Black, four, and Thomas David Black, two.
