It's a new year, new start for Lindsay Lohan as she leaves rehab and gets ready to move in to a luxury Venice Beach house

Lindsay Lohan is clearly hoping that the new year means a new start.

The troubled 24-year-old is reported to have left rehab today after a 90 day stay in the Betty Ford Clinic and is also ready to move into a plush new beach side pad.

The star is said to be renting the 3,100 square foot house in in the Venice Beach area of Los Angeles for just under $7,100 a month.

However, the house is not yet ready for Lindsay to move in, so she is said to be staying at an 'upmarket LA hotel,' according to Radar.

The house comes with four bedrooms and four bathrooms and is said to be situated across the street from her friend Samantha Ronson.

She and Ronson both used to reside in the same apartment building in the West Hollywood area of Los Angeles, but Ronson moved out last year.

Lindsay left the rehabilitation clinic, three months after she was ordered back for treatment by a judge after failing a drugs test.

She served the rehab stint in connection with her 2007 DUI conviction, after repeatedly failing to meet the terms of her probation.

This led to two stints in jail and two in rehab last year.

However, the star has signalled that she fully intends to turn over a new leaf.

She tweeted on Saturday:'Today is the first day of the rest of my life "The future depends on what we do in the present." -Mahatma Gandhi... One step at a time....'

Meanwhile Lindsay's father Michael Lohan told the CBS Early Show that his daughter was indeed turning his life around.
