Welcome home: Jennifer Aniston lands back at Los Angeles International Airport after a two week European promotional tour
Jennifer Aniston's new hair cut has received mixed reviews since she unveiled it at the Just Go With It premiere.
It was even debated that she had planned on upstaging her younger co-star Brooklyn Decker.
But the REAL reason behind the new look was revealed by the actress's long-term hairdresser as the star arrived back home in Los Angeles last night.
Chris McMillan said his A-list client didn't want to look like an extra from the Real Housewives Of Beverly Hills.
McMillan, who has worked with Jennifer for years, told Allure magazine: 'There are so many long, layered hairstyles and—don’t get me wrong, I love that.
'But The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills all have that. You know what I mean? And what’s the opposite direction you can go in.'
The actress tied her newly short do back in a bun last night.
Private escort: The actress waved to fans but kept her new haircut pinned back off her face as she was helped through the crowds
'It was just time for a change,' McMillan said. 'We had a blast doing it.
'And we’ve always liked this haircut. It’s about keeping things simple.'
And while some questioned Jennifer's decision to choose a bobbed cut, according to McMillan that was the right choice.
'I’m loving bobs again,' he explained, citing his inspiration as the recent styles featured by fashion houses like YSL. 'It’s a sexy look.'
New look: Jennifer was happy to show off her freshly shorn hair at the premiere of Just Go With It in Madrid this week
Last night Jennifer was dressed casually in dark slim fit jeans, brown suede boots and a camel coloured wool trench coat and a grey scarf.

Despite just getting off a long Transatlantic flight, the star was in good spirits and even waved to fans who began to crowd around her as she left the terminal.
Jennifer had been on a promotional tour around Europe for her new film Just Go With It, alongside Adam Sandler and Brooklyn Decker.
The tour saw her attend photo-calls and premières in London, Germany and Spain over the past week.
In the film Jennifer plays the loyal assistant of Adam Sandler's character who gets roped into pretending to be his ex-wife after he lied to his much younger girlfriend.
While she was away, it was revealed that Jennifer had put her Beverly Hills mansion up for sale with a huge listing price of $42 million.
She bought the property in 2006 for $13.5 million and spent over two years renovating it but later realised the house was 'too much' for her to handle.
She'd fit right in: Jennifer's hairdresser says her longer look is now being 'done' by people like The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills
