Art lovers: Demi Moore is selling two of her paintings at auction and may make a profit of over $1 million
Demi Moore is hoping to make over a million dollars in profit by auctioning off two 19th-century European paintings.
The actress is selling the pieces on November 4, including a piece of French work the actress says inspired her because of the artist's depiction of strong women.
One of paintings is William Bouguereau's Frere et Soeur, which dates from 1887 and could fetch up to $1.5million at Sotheby's.
Moore says: 'I find Bouguereau to be particularly engaging for me personally and have chosen to hold on to a smaller piece to carry with me throughout the years.'
The other painting is Mere et Ses Enfants by Belgian painter Alfred Stevens, which could sell for up to $200,000.
Stevens painted several versions of the painting, including one commissioned by the Belgian government in honour of sailors lost at sea and their families.

The one in Moore's possession was painted in 1883 and shows a mother smiling at her infant while her older daughter stands and looks out to sea.
Moore is selling the pictures because she feels it's time for something new.
She says: 'With the renovation and new direction our home is taking, it is time for a change.'
The Ghost star acquired the paintings in 1995 at a Christie's auction.
